Tang and Ken Hong were appointed by Digitas as its mabaging directors in Hong Kong and China, respectively, as reported in June 2010. They have been reporting to the Vivaki Group country chair for Greater China Yifei Li, who has now been promoted to chief strategic development officer for Publicis Groupe China. That role will take effect early this month.

Sources close to the agency say Tang left the business last week. It is the second time Tang has made an abrupt departure. Tang only joined MRM Hong Kong as deputy managing director in September 2009.

Tang’s departure follows a series of senior management changes at the Vivaki China Group, including Derek Kwok, managing director for China of ZenithOptimedia. He has confirmed that he will resign from the company at the end of September.

Reported in January 2010, president of Digitas Greater China Louise Au resigned after two years in her role.
