HONG KONG - Chinese pianist Lang Lang has been chosen by Langham Hotels International as its first global ambassador for The Langham and Langham Place brands.

Langham Hotels signs Chinese pianist Lang Lang as global ambassador

Lang Lang, who was named as one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2009, has earned international praise for his "dazzling style and charisma, transcending national borders and demographics".

In his first role as an ambassador for Langham Hotels, Lang Lang will appear in the group’s new brand advertising campaign due to launch in October. He will also make a number of special appearances on behalf of the group.

Each execution in the campaign is supported by simple taglines striking at the heart each property’s core proposition such as 'Icon inspires icon' for The Langham, Xintiandi or 'Magic inspires magic' for The Langham, London.

“I love the way Langham looks to inspire their guests in innovative ways as I do with my music.  It is from this creative energy that I draw my inspiration whenever I travel. I am truly delighted to be in partnership with a hotel group that shares my artistic vision,” said Lang Lang.

Brett Butcher, chief executive officer at Langham Hotels International, said, “The collaboration with Lang Lang marks a further maturing of The Langham and Langham Place brands on the global stage. Lang Lang is a multi-dimensional classical music icon that matches perfectly with our legendary heritage and iconic positioning."
