Wong joined SCMP Hearst on 26 November. She will be responsible for leading the marketing and digital departments and developing strategic marketing and digital development plans for SCMP Hearst's products and services.

According to SCMP Hearst, the lastest circulation figure for Harper’s Bazaar is 32,000, Cosmopolitan is 60,000 and CosmoGirl is 46,000.

On her first day in the new job, Wong told Campaign Asia-Pacific, "this has definitely become the challenge, when the publishing arena should not only limited to print nowadays. Digital as well as mobile all become very important in our daily life. We need to set our foot in the competitive landscape, excel and appeal to our readers," she pointed out.

"As we do not see ourselves only print magazines, but each of them a media brand which provide interesting, useful and relevant content to our readers in different media landscape."

Wong will be working with the team to build and bring these titles to a new level. She cited the importance for players in the publishing industry to evolove with more convenient digital media and progress according to the market trends.

Wong is well-prepared for the challenge in the role, formerly held by Amy Cheng before she was promoted to the publisher's role. Reported in June SCMP Group and Hearst Magazines International have formed a joint venture company, SCMP Hearst Hong Kong, to publish Elle and related titles, its website, the Car and Driver website, and further custom publishing business from 3 July.
