KidZania set to open in Singapore

SINGAPORE - KidZania, a family entertainment experience and platform for brand partnership, will be the next themed attraction built on the resort island of Sentosa in Singapore.

Designed to educate and inspire kids aged 4 to 14, KidZania creates a kid-centric experience in a replica city scaled to child size. Instead of taking rides or playing arcade games, children can participate in a variety of role-playing activities.

KidZania is looking for partnerships with international brands, as well as local retailers that appeal to the market in Singapore, according to the company. Real-world brands are able to bring authenticity to the experience by sponsoring all the shops and facilities in the child-sized city.

After opening its first park in 1999 in Mexico, KidZania now has 11 locations in eight countries, including Jakarta, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai and Lisbon. A total of 13 KidZania locations are under development—in Singapore, Bangkok, Kuwait, Jeddah, Moscow, Mumbai, Sao Paolo, Manila, Istanbul, Cairo, London, Bussan and Qatar.

Located in Sentosa’s Palawan Beach, the 7,600-square-metre attraction will be Singapore’s first indoor theme park and is set to open in early 2015.

Kidzania is being brought to Singapore by Themed Attractions and Resorts, which is part of the Government of Malaysia's strategic investment fund, Khazanah Nasional Berhad.
