Jet Airways takes Impact Asia on board for PR drive in Hong Kong

HONG KONG - India’s largest airline, Jet Airways, has chosen independent PR agency Impact Asia as their AOR agency for the Hong Kong market.

Jeremy Cheung, managing director of Impact Asia Hong Kong, confirmed that they secured the contract in June.

"One of the main PR messages that we need to highlight to the Hong Kong public is that Jet Airways is not only flying to India, but also to many international destinations, from Europe, US, the Middle East, South Africa to Southeast Asia," Cheung emphasised.

Jet Airways is the latest addition to Impact Asia's hotel and hospitality client portfolio, which includes Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Hong Kong Tourism Board, Sofitel and Sheraton.

According to Media's Top 1000 brands report published on 1 July 2010, Jet Airways appears to be generating momentum after a year beset with challenges, including revenue loss of US$80 million and a 500-strong pilots' strike due to the dismissal of four colleagues. However, following an increase in profits of 11 per cent in Q4 last year, things were looking up and the airline predicted a return to form.

As part of their marketing initiatives in Hong Kong, Jet Airways sponsored TVB's 2010 Miss Hong Kong Pageant and have sent the contestants to location shootings in India last month.

The Airline has also sponsored Hong Kong i-Cable TV to shoot an eight-episode travel show called 'What a wonderful world', which was shot in Europe and will be on air in mid-July.
