Tapped by Havas Media Asia Pacific CEO Vishnu Mohan for the position, De Leon said, “I am very happy at OMG but this opportunity may not come my way again.” The resignation will take effect from 31 March.

De Leon was promoted to president and CEO at OMG Philippines in October 2007, to oversee both PHD and Omnicom sister media agency OMD. Prior to the appointment, she was the head of PHD Manila.

Ed Mapa, CEO of Media Contacts, said, “Hermie is joining Havas Media Philippines as CEO of MPG Philippines, the offline media planning and buying agency of Havas. Her appointment is part of the expansion plan of Havas Media in the Philippines."

Havas Media recently further expanded its presence in the Philippines with Havas Digital's acquisition of local mobile company Snapworx and its rebranding as Mobext. Collab Manila also joined the group in January via its partnership with Media Contacts.
