In his role, Eaton oversees the media planning and analytics side of the business in Japan – a market he as long been familiar with following his experience at GroupM.

Eaton was the managing director of MEC Japan from 2005 to 2007, when he left to take up the role of Mindshare Japan’s leader. In 2008, Eaton departed the agency as part of a restructure that saw local management take up the top positions in Japan, where Mindshare faces competition from domestic giants Dentsu and Hakuhodo.

Takeshi Komuro was appointed as leader of Mindshare’s Tokyo office to replace Eaton.

Eaton has additionally served as business director of Initiative Tokyo, and has worked in the UK at Accenture. He joins Naked from Press Army Inc., where he was business development director.

Naked has additionally strengthened its management with the appointment of Hideki “Nick” Watanabe as executive creative strategist, joining from Beacon.

The appointments come as Naked approaches its third anniversary in Tokyo. Since 2007, it has grown to a staff of 18 people and claims key clients including Coca Cola, Electronic Arts, Tesco and Sony.
