This win marks the fourth time Euro RSCG has won the pitch, which takes place every two years.
The agency is tasked with building overall brand management of HKIA retail shops. The scope of business covers through-the-line advertising and communication services from strategic planning to creative development and implementation for major HKIA retail shops, including the Hong Kong SkyMart at Terminal 1 and SkyPlaza at Terminal 2.
CC Tang, chairman, Euro RSCG Hong Kong, said, “We are delighted to have the opportunity to continue working with HKIA. It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with them for the past eight years and the whole team looks forward to doing some incredible work for them once again.”
Tang added the HKIA is facing increasing competition, not only internationally but also from other airports in the Pearl River Delta, and has been doing lots upgrades including new automation facilities to ease the check-in process for passengers.
He also cited a recent campaign that Euro RSCG did for HKIA, titled '好好食'. The campaign tried to teach international travelers how to say the phrase, which means 'Yummy' in Cantonese, in order to promote the popular F&B offerings at HKIA.
JC Decaux Airport team is the HKIA's long-term media partner and holds the license for selling advertising space for HKIA. Dior, Chanel, Lancôme, Remy Martin, Tag Heuer, HSBC, Shanghai Tang and Chow Sang Sang are among the A-list advertisers at the HKIA.
HKIA was voted as the 2011World's Best Airport in the annual passenger survey by Skytrax, a London-based air transport research organisation. This is the eighth time that HKIA has won the award since 2001. The airport also won the awards for Best Airport Asia and Best Airport Dining in the same survey.
Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) unveiled on 29 February that it will move ahead with its US$283 million (HK$2.2 billion) West Apron development, which will help the airport meet its medium-term demand for additional parking. Located at the western end of the airport island, the 430,000-square-metre site will be equipped with 16 parking stands for common use. Construction is slated to be complete by the end of 2013.
