Dentsu has appointed its Southern Europe, MENA and Turkey chief executive Paolo Stucchi as the leader of its media arm in EMEA.

Stucchi will succeed Thomas Le Thierry–the former Vizeum co-founder–who has been appointed Dentsu EMEA client advisor.

Dentsu said the changes to its EMEA senior leadership team are designed to “strengthen client focus and continue to help clients transform their business and respond to the changing needs of consumers”.

The move does not affect the UK, where Hamish Nicklin will continue to be the media leader in a role he has held for nearly three years. Angela Tangas is the UK chief executive of Dentsu in the UK and Ireland.

Stucchi will report to Dentsu EMEA chief executive Giulio Malegori and international markets media chief executive Peter Huijboom.

He will oversee the region's media agencies, which include Carat, Dentsu X and iProspect. Stucchi has worked for Dentsu for more than 12 years, including leading its media arm across Southern Europe, MENA and Turkey and serving as CEO of Vizeum Italy, which merged with iProspect in 2020.
