BBC partners with Xerox to illustrate role of technology in business

BBC World News is launching a new series of 24 short features around the role of technology in the world of business. Called 'Technology of business', the TV series will be sponsored by Xerox.

The series of four-minute vignettes will be presented by a number of different BBC reporters. It will examine the ways in which businesses use technology to increase productivity and profitability, with episodes dealing with subjects such as the role of social media in enabling companies to learn from their customers.

Content around the series, including text and video, will also be found online on a special section at Bbc.com/techbusiness.

The sponsorship will take the form of opening and closing 10” billboards around the vignettes. Xerox will also take on exclusive advertising on the 'Technology of business' section on Bbc.com.

As part of the agreement, BBC World News is also providing Xerox with syndication and distribution permission to the series, which will be managed by MEC. This will enable editorial content to be published on social media channels, and news and technology sites.

Paul Gibbs, head of programmes at BBC World News, said, “Technology’s role in modern business has seen some profound changes. We’re very happy that Xerox has chosen to sponsor what should be a really interesting series.”

Darrell Minards, head of communications, Xerox Europe, added, “Xerox’s role today is about providing services and technology to help businesses get on with what they do best. The  sponsorship of this series is a key part of our new global marketing campaign ‘Ready for real business’, it’s a great fit for us, enabling us to communicate the new Xerox in a fresh and engaging way and disrupt legacy perceptions of the Xerox brand. BBC World News is a hugely respected channel with a genuinely global audience, so it’s an exciting place for us to be.”
