Ad Nut
Jun 8, 2020

This campaign is just what you'd expect from a brand called Binge (and that's fine)

The inaugural campaign from a new streaming service in Australia is not inventive, but that doesn't mean it's not effective.

Sometimes, it ain't rocket science. Name your brand Binge. Show people binging on filmed entertainment. Show the filmed entertainment itself. There ya go.

The straightforward and unapologetic campaign from The Hallway is titled 'We’re for the bingers'. It launched last week and includes TV, print, OOH, digital, radio and social media.

The agency reports that it was about to go into production on a "large-scale TVC" in March when COVID-19 hit, causing a change of direction. One wonders what that would have looked like. Ad Nut, for one, believes it's unlikely that a more elaborate concept or production would have done a better job of introducing the brand.
