Let these haircare ads soothe your COVID-ravaged soul

A series of fun China spots for Aussie haircare products, by P&G's in-house team and Sweetshop, hints at a brighter future timeline.

With much of the world still in the throes of the virus crisis, Ad Nut finds it comforting and reassuring that post-lockdown, people will once again care about things like having luxurious, lustrous locks.

In China, that future is already becoming a reality, and the rest of us can glimpse it in this series of ads for P&G's Aussue brand for the China market. Ad Nut is not too proud to admit that watching these spots, by the brand's in-house team and production company Sweetshop, made Ad Nut a little misty-eyed.

But the ads are good not merely because of the ray of hope they represent. They're light, fun and distinctive, with a bright colour palette, eye-catching visuals and seriously cool music—not to mention a kangaroo. And Ad Nut is always a fan of good old-fashioned product comparison done in a clever way—such as likening your product to a fruity gelatin and your competitor's to butter.
