General Electric | Hold the Power of Wind in Your Hands | China

General Electric (GE) has asked BBDO to develop an augmented reality campaign to illustrate the companies wind technology.

Titled 'Imagination at work’, the 3D technology set up wind turbines with the Shanghai skyline as a backdrop, including the signature Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower.

The campaign will also be launching an interactive online game where users can activate the wind turbines by blowing onto the computer’s microphone and generating virtual energy power.

Edwin Downing, director at GE Online Advertising and New Media said: “GE AR users will not only enjoy and want to share this fun 3D experience, but also learn more about wind energy and its role as a driving force for clean energy in the future.” He hopes to educate people on in China or on a global level about the seriousness of global warming and GE’s commitment to innovation.

The website also links to Chinese social networks including RenRen and Douban.
