Ad Nut
Jan 6, 2020

Could the smell of your dirty car literally kill you?

This P&G ad wants you to stop stinking and driving in 2020.

P&G-owned air-freshener brand Ambi Pur has released a new online campaign called ‘Stink Don’t Drive’ to raise awareness among Thai drivers of the potential stink in their cars.

The above film by CJ Worx depicts the tale of a seemingly ‘innocent’ driver who unknowingly suffocated his passengers by way of offensive odors. Brought to the authorities for questioning, he is confused at the accusations flung at him. Turns out he was so familiar with the smell of his own car that he had become acclimatised to it.

The ad—in trademark Thai fashion—is over-the-top and slapstick-filled, and also benefits from a catchy tagline and hashtag. While Ad Nut can’t attest to the stink of Thai drivers’ cars, it's obvious that most creatures enjoy a good whiff of fresh pine over dirty socks in any circumstance.
