HONG KONG - Sylvester ‘Sly’ Song (pictured) has left JWT and returned to Y&R as regional creative director of content for Colgate Palmolive.

Y&R lures Sylvester Song back from JWT Hong Kong after one year

Song now reports to Tan Shen Guan, regional executive creative director for Y&R, based in Hong Kong, both working on the Colgate Palmolive account.

Commenting on the re-appointment, Tan claimed Song's re-established role is "one of the first of its kind", since he will be the first senior creative director devoted full-time to content development and production.

"Basically, think of this job as being the editor-in-chief for a client's business—from ideation of subject matter, to writing video scripts, and even the actual shooting of videos," Tan told Campaign Asia-Pacific. Song's filmmaking background will be helpful with producing content at affordable costs at a sustainable level, Tan added.

Song had a go at being a film director when he started One Sly Dog Films in 2010, but returned to his advertising career shortly after.

JWT denied knowledge of Song's departure. He joined JWT as executive creative director in 2011.
