WDC has appointed Amit Malhotra as the general manager of media distribution and sales, responsible for the distribution and commercial growth of Disney's portfolio in the region.
Continuing in his current role as vice-president of programme distribution at Disney Media Distribution Asia-Pacific, Malhotra will also develop distribution and media sales strategies to support broadcasters, platforms, advertisers and promotional partners.
Natasha Malhotra has been named as general manager of branded media and content, leading Disney’s branded media business in Southeast Asia, including managing Disney's portfolio of channels, free-to-air blocks and digital branded services.
She will develop and grow franchises across the company, expanding the reach and relevance of the Disney brand, and delivering on-air, on-ground and on-line with focused content and brand strategies.
She was most recently with Disney in India, where she led Disney's network of channels for more than two years.
Nicholas Wodtke joins as vice-president of strategy and business development.
In addition to overseeing the Disney Interactive division in developing growth strategies for internet, mobile and gaming opportunities in the region, he will also lead the development of company-wide growth strategies and business development activities.
Prior to joining WDC, Wodtke was leading a business development and strategy team across online, mobile and digital television for Disney in Asia-Pacific.
They will report to managing director Robert Gilby.
“The organisation we are creating is focused on capturing the immense potential of the Southeast Asia region,” Gilby said. “We’re focused on accelerating the growth of the Disney brand, delivering a rich mix of content and leveraging technology to make our content more compelling and reach more audiences.”
