UPDATE: McCann Worldgroup creative and digital agency Luxury Box merges with Momentum China

The combined agencies will retain all staff and clients. Offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Taipei will rebrand under Momentum, which will require minimal transitional effort, the agency said.

“By scaling our resources and capabilities we are transforming Momentum from an activation and shopper agency into an integrated solutions provider that covers the full spectrum of marketing and branding,” said John Steere, managing director, Momentum Greater China.

Canon Wu will continue on as chief creative officer of the combined entities. “This merger allows me to focus on perfecting our creative craft and ensure our clients receive effective creative solutions,” added Wu.

“John and Canon are a natural fit and they combine the expertise and experience that befits the challenges and opportunities we all know China presents, “ said Momentum Worldwide chairman and CEO Chris Weil.

Reported this week, Luxury Box has been entrusted by Coca-Cola China with the digital engagement strategy, creative and implementation for Ice Dew in 2012, though the assignment began with immediate effect. The appointment followed an intensive pitch three-way pitch with two other 4A digital agencies.
