The promotions are effect immediately. Mabuchi joined Tribal DDB in 2009 as director of digital strategy in overseeing major clients like McDonald’s and Ciba Vision. In 1998, he founded his own digital marketing agency DOE Co and later led as board director of doeprofero following a joint venture with Profero Japan.

Kinoshita will take on the responsibility of strategic consulting for social media engagements. Last August he took on an extended role to lead Rapp Japan in building data, direct, digital and mobile marketing strategies.

“The evolution and importance of specialised digital roles are becoming more evident today, due to the growing power of consumer control. Kuni and Kino have the skills and expertise to continue building a formidable team at Tribal DDB Japan,” said Takashi Takeda, president and CEO of DDB Group Japan.

The news comes as DDB Japan Group appoints Tohru Tanaka as executive creative director.
