Susana Tsui has departed her role at online publication TheAsianparent after just six months to pursue "other opportunities", Campaign Asia-Pacific can reveal.

Tsui joined the parenting website in September as CEO of media, responsible for its content, community and media platforms.

She was previously the China CEO at Dentsu Aegis Network, a position she left in March 2019, less than a year after arriving from PHD, where she had been APAC CEO since 2013.

The publication's founder and group CEO Roshni Mahtani Cheung said that the company had come to a "mutual and amicable" decision with Tsui to part ways, after it "became clear that she [Tsui] would like to pursue other opportunities that she is passionate about". Tsui departed the company towards the end of March.

Mahtani Cheung added that TheAsianparent has been doing "tremendously well" so far this year, with traffic "more than doubling" in Q1 and revenue up nearly 25% year-on-year.

"We continue to look out to build our team in Singapore," Mahtani Cheung said.

The publication's media business will now be helmed by COO of media Leroy Lim.

Meanwhile, it is unclear whether Dean Carroll's role will change with the business. Carroll, the former general manager at the now-ceased Mumbrella Asia, joined TheAsianparent in January to lead its events and intellectual property (IP) division.

"Dean is a powerhouse that we brought in to lead our events business which we intended to expand," Mahtani Cheung said in a statement. "He is currently enjoying his paternity leave. We will reassess our offline expansion plan in a few months."
