An undisclosed source close to the client told Campaign Asia-Pacific that GDAD, Ogilvy & Mather and Y&R are among the agencies that have been invited for their pitch presentations in Sichuan.

The source added that the client had worked with O&M more than six years ago and since switched to using local agencies.

The state-owned company, established in 1958, has an extensive consumer electronic appliance product range, and this creative AOR pitch is aimed at rebuilding its brand image. "It is a big and interesting project with their huge product range and this has attracted us to join this pitch," the source said.

Changhong's major products are television sets, air conditioners, refrigerators and information technology (IT) products. The Company's television sets include liquid crystal display (LCD), plasma display panel (PDP), three dimensional (3D) and a series of other products.

The company is also involved in the manufacture and distribution of set-top boxes and refrigerator compressors, as well as the distribution of IT products. Its products, under the brand named Changchong, are distributed in the domestic and overseas markets.
