Roy reports to Alex Crowther, Singapore-based CEO for Asia-Pacific at MediaCom. His appointment as technical advisor serves to further strengthen the MediaCom team and offering for the clients.

Crowther said, “Indonesia is a top priority market for us at MediaCom and it’s great that we have someone like Sandip who knows MediaCom, our clients and Indonesia to further lead our growth.”

With more than 14 years’ industry experience, Roy joined MediaCom in 2009 from a regional business director role at UM, working with multiple clients with a key focus on managing the Mastercard business for APAC, Middle East and Africa as a regional lead for the global business.

This follows the appointment of Neal Estavillo as managing director of MediaCom Malaysia.

Originally from the Philippines, Estavillo has over 20 years' experience in the industry with 16 of those in Malaysia where he’s run Grey, JWT, Milk & Co as well as, most recently, McCann Erickson. He's worked on many high profile multi-national clients including P&G, Unilever, Volkswagen, HSBC, LG and Shell.

Estavillo assumes the day-to-day operations of MediaCom Malaysia in mid-March, reporting into Crowther and Girish Menon, CEO of GroupM Malaysia. He replaces Tan Siang Lin who left late in 2010 to join Aegis Group as trading director.

Sandip Roy’s experience in Indonesia and Southeast Asia started with three years at StarCom Worldwide where he joined as Jakarta-based AOR director on P&G, leading a large team with a thrust on holistic communications backed with strong media and market research. Roy subsequently became Singapore-based associate (regional) director – strategic planning – P&G ASEAN markets (including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam).

Roy’s career started with Media Direction in Kolkata/New Delhi, then contract advertising with the WPP Network in Kolkata, before joining Zenithmedia, Kolkata/Mumbai). He moved to Mediacom Mumbai in 2003/05 as associate media director before stints as business director Interactions Bangalore, and as project director at DMA BrandingMumbai.
