A BBDO/Proximity spokesperson confirmed the news and said that Strother’s role servicing the agency’s client Aviva had been filled internally, while that for Hewlett-Packard had been filled by Jason Kolinsky, who was recently appointed as regional account director for the business.

As part of internal restructuring BBDO/Proximity had recently promoted Strother from the position of managing director of Proximity Singapore and brought in Vic Sithanasan from Proximity Malaysia to take over as the general manager.

Prior to joining Proximity, Strother was the managing director of Grey Direct Interactive, where he spent eight years.

When approached by Media, Strother said that he is taking a break and has not decided on his next move. “It’s good to take a break sometimes. I am also looking at opportunities and am in discussion with some agencies,” he said.
