Dharia fills the vacancy left by Ramswaroop Gopalan who departed in 2009. She will report to the executive vice-president Nisha Singhania and also work closely with Ashutosh Karkhanis, the creative head of digital who joined in 2008. The Northern and Eastern business head Kiran Dhillon will also be supporting Dharia from Delhi.

The appointment is part of Redifussion Y&R's commitment to grow their digital offering in both Mumbai and Delhi.

Dharia said: “2010 has been defined as the year when we will see the definitive shift in a brand’s approach to digital media in contrast to other advertising mediums.”

Prior to Rediffusion, Dharia was with Tribal DDB. With thirteen years' experience in the digital field, Dharia previously worked with clients including Volkswagen, Wrigley’s, Times of India and MTV.
