SINGAPORE - Australian PR agency Red Agency, part of the Havas Group, has opened its first office outside its home nation by taking on and integrating the Havas Siren PR operation in Singapore.

The move sees Red enter Southeast Asia as Red Agency Singapore and looking to build on Havas Siren’s existing capabilities and talent.

“It’s something we’ve been thinking about for a little while,” James Wright, Red Agency Group CEO and Havas COO, told Campaign Asia-Pacific. “It’s a chance to reinvigorate our PR, social and content offering in the region through the Red Agency brand, which comes with a great heritage an track record.”

Red Agency took home seven awards at the Campaign Asia-Pacific PR Awards this year.

Red Agency Singapore will already have a broad client portfolio including brands such as Sony, Brocade, Sophos, Tokio Marine, Sanofi-Aventis and Air France-KLM.

Allanjit Singh, who will retain his role as managing director, Red Agency Singapore, said: “It’s very much work as usual, but the whole team has been energised by a new vision and direction.

Singh says Red Agency will benefit from shared knowledge, training and best practices, as well as staff exchanges, between the Singapore and Australia offices as his team looks to grow in the social-activation and brand-experience areas.

“We have some ideas on that here already, but will look to work closely with the Australia team and get some guidance on how to bring that stuff to life.”

Wright added that Red Agency’s positioning as a contemporary, social and content-driven PR agency is “very reflective of where the market is moving” and the types of opportunities arising in Singapore.

“I’m really excited," he added. "Things are moving in the right direction at the Havas Village in Singapore, and if we continue working collaboratively and get some of the momentum that Red Agency has in Australia, we can really move the needle for our clients in Singapore.”
