Profero wins digital duties for Media Markt's China entry

Profero, a full-service independent digital communications agency, will manage Media Markt from its Shanghai operation. The agency will be responsible for Media Markt’s China website, paid online media, mobile campaigns and social media programmes.

Media Markt launched in China with a five-storey, 9,500 square-meter store in the heart of Shanghai on 17 November, the brand's second biggest outlet in the world. The brand is to offer 45,000 different products at affordable prices to compete with players in the same industry.

Derrick Chiang, managing director at Profero Shanghai, commented, “It is a hugely exciting opportunity for Media Markt, and we are honoured that we get to play a role in helping them achieve great results in China.”

Media Markt China plans to operate more than ten stores in Shanghai by 2012.
