Wong (pictured) will now oversee the agency’s day-to-day management, new business development and staff training programme, reporting to Raymond Tao, president of O&M Advertising/China.

With more than 25 years experience in the Chinese advertising industry, Wong’s expertise lies in product positioning and development, brand promotion and nurturing international client accounts including Motorola, Nestlé, KFC, BMW, Nissan, American Express and Hutchison Whampoa.

Before taking on the vice general manager role for O&M Advertising/Guangzhou in 2010, Wong was managing director of O&M/Shenzhen. In 2006 following Ogilvy’s acquisition of Black Arc Advertising, Wong led the then-newly acquired agency as vice president and general manager of BlackArc Ogilvy/South China.

Prior to that Wong spent 14 years with O&M Advertising/Taiwan where he worked his way up from account director to general manager.

Tao said, “Nick has spent 26 years with us already and he knows all the ins and outs of Ogilvy’s culture and business. We’re excited to hand him the reins of Ogilvy Advertising in Guangzhou and I’m sure he’ll do a superb job of serving our clients and colleagues in South China.”
