Nikkei Business Publications charges Publicitas to boost ad sales in HK

HONG KONG - Nikkei Business Publications Asia has appointed Publicitas Hong Kong (PHK) as its advertising sales representative for the Hong Kong market, effective 1 April.

Kazuhiko Yahiro, MD of Nikkei Business Publications, said they have used several sales representatives in the past and appointed PHK due to their reputation in handling ad sales for many major global newspapers and publications, including Time Magazine.

PHK will take care of Nikkei’s wide range of B2B magazines and online media, including its flagship magazine Nikkei Business.

Yahiro added that typical advertisers include government, finance and banking as well as hospitality  organisations keen to attract Japanese companies and visitors to their countries, including current clients InvestHK and Deutsche Bank.

Michele Li, advertising director of PHK, will take charge of the print division, while Rock Po, digital advertising director, will take care of the online advertising for Nikkei Business Publications.

Reported in October, Publitas Hong Kong, part of Swiss media company Publigroupe, expanded its digital offering and launched a new regional digital sales and marketing unit based in Hong Kong.

The company is the world's largest independent media representation company with a wide network of media sales offices in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, representing publishers including Times of India in India, Fairfax and Time in Australia, Today Newspapers and The Edge in Singapore, Rayli in China, The USA Today in the US, and The Independent in the UK, among others.
