NetEase appoints DDB Guangzhou to flagship online game

GUANGZHOU - DDB Guangzhou has been appointed by NetEase to handle the creative for its online role-playing game 'Fantasy westward journey', without a pitch.

NetEase provides Chinese language content and services through online games, wireless value-added services and internet portal businesses.

Inspired by the Chinese novel Journey to the West, 'Fantasy westward journey' is a multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and run by NetEase. 

NetEase head of marketing for online gaming Ethan Wang, said, “We were highly impressed by DDB’s creative passion and professionalism, we look forward to a successful and exciting journey with them.”

Janny Sy, director of client service at DDB Guangzhou, added, “We hope our creativity and reams of knowledge in Chinese teens would contribute to the brand and their business.”
