SINGAPORE - MullenLowe Group has named Shannon Cullum, most recently CEO for Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia at Saatchi & Saatchi, as its Singapore CEO. He will oversee growth and drive creative effectiveness for the agency.

A spokesperson for MullenLowe said Cullum is not a replacement for Rupen Desai, who left the agency suddenly last year. Desai had been with the company for 20 years and ran the region for the last five.

Cullum previously spent six years with Saatchi & Saatchi working across China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Philippines, where he focused on building the agency’s creative reputation. Under his direction, Saatchi & Saatchi won four Cannes Lions, including two Gold in 2016.

“I am certain that the breadth and depth of his experience and competencies will substantially help in further enhancing this office’s position of being amongst the agencies best placed to manage regional and global clients hubbed out of Singapore,” said Joseph George, MullenLowe Group, regional president, South & Southeast Asia.

Cullum, for his part, said, he sees greater potential for increased collaboration. “MullenLowe Group’s culture is what attracted me most to the agency. I got a real sense of unity and optimism from the leadership team; and a commitment to being a truly creatively driven global boutique agency.”
