Midea engages DDB and McCann in China

DDB's Shanghai team developed an innovative and comprehensive business solution including activation and e-commerce, which "definitely goes further than an engaging creative idea", according to Su Rong, marketing head of Midea Air Conditioning.

Meanwhile, McCann Shanghai will be responsible for Midea Water Appliances' overall brand strategy, strategic planning, creative concept and integrated marketing communications in China. The client's vision is to upgrade water heaters, dispensers and purifiers from merely household appliances to intelligent devices in a 'smart home'.

Both appointments are annual contracts for a full year.
