MediaCom strengthens Asia-Pacific business with senior promotions

SINGAPORE - GroupM's MediaCom has promoted Rahul Vasudev and Arjun Ghosh to its regional leadership team in Asia.

The management shuffle comes on the back of the US$150 million regional Fonterra win last month. Mediacom also recently bagged accounts from P&G and Coca-Cola.

Vasudev, who had been responsible for a significant portion of the P&G account, will now head digital for Asia-Pacific, based in Singapore. His team has more than 300 people across the region. Ghosh, who also previously worked on the P&G account, will head the agency’s business science division, a unit within MediaCom that measures advertising effectiveness: what has been done well, what hasn’t delivered results and how to budget in the future. Ghosh operates out of MediaCom’s office in China.

“As the fastest growing regional network, we continue to evolve our structure,” said Toby Jenner, COO for Asia-Pacific. “This presents tremendous opportunities for the fantastic people we already have in our business and the opportunity to handpick great talent from across the region that we want to bring into the MediaCom fold.”

MediaCom estimates its new business wins in the region to be in excess of $550 million. The figure takes into account Fonterra, P&G, Coca-Cola, Unicom, Foxtel and Jollibee.

Apart from the internal promotions, MediaCom has also named Sean Seamer chief business development and marketing officer and Radhika Ramani as head of accountability. Seamer worked at the agency before taking a sabbatical in mid-2012. Ramani, who is yet to join, comes from OMG where she was head of pricing for Asia-Pacific.

“Retaining and hiring the best talent is central to our 'people first' philosophy and how we retain our number one position as the fastest growing regional network,” Jenner added.
