Leo Burnett Malaysia names managing director

The managing director position in Leo Burnett Malaysia has been long vacated since Tan Kien Eng moved up as the chief executive officer in 2009.

“We have had amazing growth for the past five years, almost doubling an already large-scale agency,” Tan said. “This is the perfect time as we are at a stage where we need to strengthen our management team to ensure that we have the best people to take us on to the next phase of growth. Robert’s vast experience in a variety of fields will be a plus in ensuring the company’s growth.”

Kay was most recently with TBWA\RAAD in Abu Dhabi as managing director, working with clients including the national airline of the United Arab Emirates and Abu Dhabi’s Formula 1.

Previously, he was with other agencies including Baba Consultants, Batey Asia, The Campaign Palace Sydney, George Patterson Partners Melbourne and Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising.

Kay also worked in The Coca-Cola Company as regional marketing manager, managing all aspects of marketing and product development for Australasia.
