The appointment of the Beijing-based agency, which is a joint venture between Ogilvy and local firm Raynet, follows a pitch that also included global J&J incumbent BBDO.

According to Catherine Guo, senior vice-president of Ogilvy Raynet, J&J is looking to develop ShowerToShower into a “successful national body wash brand”.

Guo added that the agency already worked on Dabao, a low-cost skincare product recently acquired by J&J in China.

The initial campaign under the partnership is expected to roll out in the first half of the year.
