Iris launches office in Shanghai

SHANGHAI - Iris has launched its office in Shanghai, nine months after the independent agency's entry into the Chinese market in Beijing.

David King (pictured), regional CEO China of Iris, will run the new office and look to hire a new team. He said in a statement: "China is one of the fastest growing communications markets in the world and a presence in Shanghai has always been planned to service our regional and global clients.”

“While our Beijing office will continue to focus primarily on the Sony Ericsson business, the new Shanghai office is already scoping a number of exciting projects for multiple clients and we will be making announcements in due course. In the meantime, we are actively recruiting at all levels to grow our initial core team in Shanghai," continued King.

Ian Millner, global CEO of Iris, added: “Our intent is to become the leading integrated marketing agency worldwide and we see China as a key market for our growth and development. We can deliver integration in a way that the other networks can’t and offer specialism in high growth disciplines like digital and experiential. It’s this new model proposition, coupled with the fact that we’re independent and agile, that we believe will resonate with the market”.

Last November, Iris formed a strategic partnership with Edge Marketing - an integrated marketing agency with offices in Vietnam, Singapore and Thailand - to boost its presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
