To bolster ICC Sydney’s legacy program, the centre has debuted a creative industries stream to showcase “Australia’s home-grown talent” and “support the next generation of creative leaders”.

This means that more support will be given to Sydney’s emerging artists through cultural institutions and colleges to engage new talent for event performances from Talent Development Project and connect with festival programs such as VIVID and Sydney Festival. In addition to providing exposure for young talents, clients also get the chance to contribute to the city’s creative economy.

This stream has been curated to complement the legacy program’s four core streams - Innovators & Entrepreneurs, Generation Next, First Australians, and Sustainable Events, all of which aim to “drive long-term social, economic and environment outcomes”.

“Our team is looking forward to formalising our connections to deliver tangible commercial outcomes for the creative industries,” said Geoff Donaghy, CEO for ICC Sydney. “Just some of the highlights include uptake of authentic Welcome to Countries, Darling Harbour precinct tours with respected elder Aunty Margret and the depth of student and start-up engagement at Sibos.”
