Fluid starts up second InvestHK project

HONG KONG - Fluid has created a microsite for InvestHK, its second project for the client, after a multi-agency pitch involving 14 agencies including Designercity, Ogilvy, and StartJG in May.

Fluid's previous work ran in print, online and outdoor across Europe in October 2012 to attract foreign direct investment into Hong Kong.

This time round, the www.startmeup.hk website was developed as part of a new initiative to promote Hong Kong as a startup destination.

Andrew Au, managing director of Fluid, said the site is designed to facilitate collaboration amongst entrepreneurs in the local and overseas startup communities. It will be updated at the end of the month with more functionalities and information.

InvestHK will be organising roadshows in London this month to highlight the opportunities for UK entrepreneurs to use Hong Kong as a base for starting their business in China and across Asia.

"Hong Kong’s half-way-to-everywhere location makes it very attractive to a broad spectrum of smaller, entrepreneur-led businesses, often with fewer than 20 employees. The first step is to get people considering Hong Kong over other obvious startup choices like Singapore and Silicon Valley," Au said.

The founder of Fluid, Simon Squibb, also an angel investor, is the CEO of Nest Investments—an incubator firm that gives budding entrepreneurs access to funding from venture capitalists.
