Euro RSCG and Publicis are tipped to be the final two, as Expedia continues its roll-out in the region.

A spokesperson said that at this stage Expedia has not signed any agency agreement. "They are currently in conversations with parties and will provide a formal announcement when a decision has been made," she said.

February 2011 saw Expedia launch its first site in Southeast Asia, Expedia.com.sg, designed specifically for the Singapore traveller.

This marks Expedia’s fifth site in the Asia-Pacific region with a presence already in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and India. The firm also has operations in China via a controlling investment in eLong, a Beijing-based online travel company.

At the time, Dan Lynn, vice-president and managing director of Expedia Asia-Pacific, said, “As one of the fastest growing online travel markets in the world, Southeast Asia represents an extremely important part of our Asia-Pacific growth strategy.”

Following the Expedia Singapore website, the firm was looking to add new sites in Malaysia, Korea and Thailand within the first half of 2011.
