Ex Imprimis CEO launches global PR firm

ASIA-PACIFIC - Aman Gupta, the founder and former CEO of Indian communications firm Imprimis PR, has announced the launch of Strategic Partners Group (SPAG), a global communications firm with offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Singapore, London, Washington and Toronto.

SPAG will provide public relations services, brand marketing, cause marketing, digital marketing and CSR consulting. The network is a mix of owned offices and partner offices.

It launched its India operations earlier this year and has picked up clients in the pharmaceutical industry, social sector, B2B, financial consulting and telecom, the company said. SPAG has also executed work in Singapore and Malaysia for its clients.

“What is more interesting is the profile of clients that we are in advance stages of discussions with, whose work should start in next two months,” said Gupta, managing partner at SPAG. He added that some of the work SPAG is doing includes "stakeholder mapping and identification of influencers" in the pharmaceutical field.

SPAG recently launched a strategic media outreach campaign at a health conference in Kuala Lumpur. Gupta and his team are also working with a multinational healthcare company to build awareness for a specific therapy area using traditional and social media.

SPAG currently has a team of 10 senior people spread across the network and plans to double the headcount in the next 12 months.

Gupta stepped down as CEO of Imprimis in February. His past experience includes planning communications for Merck, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Novartis and the World Bank.
