Dentsu Aegis Network today announced its acquisition of Vietnam’s largest independent digital agency, Ambient Digital.

The agency will fall under DAN’s iProspect unit, launching it in market by rebranding Ambient Digital as iProspect Vietnam.

Ambient Digital was established in 2010 in Ho Chi Minh City. It has 95 staff—who will all remain in place—offering digital media services including programmatic, creative production, social media management and planning. The agency has also expanded its operations into Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. These capabilities will now be combined with iProspect’s global performance and search offering.

Co-founders Thu Nguyen and Andrew Stephens take on leadership positions as CEO and chief growth officer of iProspect Vietnam respectively, reporting to Sanjay Bhasin, CEO of DAN Indochina.

In a statement, Nguyen and Stephens said the acquisition brings Ambient Digital “the credibility and gravitas of an international agency group. The integration of iProspect’s tools and technology with Ambient’s local knowledge and digital expertise represents a unique and robust offering.”

Bhasin added: “As multi-screen search and performance campaigns become a key focus for advertisers, the launch of iProspect [in Vietnam] through the Ambient acquisition ensures our clients continue to succeed in the digital space.”
