Dentsu Aegis Network has named Donald Lim CEO in the Philipppines, suceeding Angelito Pangilinan (known as 'BoyP') who is moving into the role of non-executive chairman.

BoyP will focus on industry relationships and training and development.

Lim joins from ABS-CBN, where he was chief digital officer. His other prior roles include chief innovation officer at McCann Worldgroup and managing director at MRM//McCann.

DAN addressed the move in a straightfoward manner in a statement. The network needs to "unlock our full potential with next-generation leadership that can move freely between creativity, data and media", and BoyP and Dick van Motman, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network Southeast Asia, "agreed that Donald Lim embodies all these qualities".

Speaking to Campaign Asia-Pacific, van Motman said the pair of men would form a great team. "It's about keeping talent in the company, and BoyP has done a very good job and he will stay in the company to steer business growth," he said.

Meanwhile, BoyP said DAN Philippines has evolved over the last few years and will work with Lim "to keep moving and capitalise on our unique convergent way of working".

"Philippines is gaining a lot of traction economically and digitally," Lim said. "Having spent many years working in this market, it is at this very moment that we can really let true innovation take flight and succeed."
