Cheil adds international remit to Aaron Lau's Greater China role

HONG KONG - Cheil Worldwide has appointed Aaron Lau as president of international operations in addition to his role as Greater China president and CEO.

Lau has served in the Greater China role since 2012 and has grown staff count from 900 to 1,400 and increased annual revenue by 37 per cent since then, according to the agency.

In his newly created position, Lau will continue to report to Michael Kim, COO of Cheil Worldwide based in the Seoul headquarters. His specific duties are to enhance Cheil's reputation, lead the Cheil Global Network Team based in the UK and also work with the agency's regional heads to further develop its client portfolio.

He will also collaborate with the leadership team under the Cheil umbrella, such as McKinney, Iris, Beattie McGuiness Bungay, The Barbarian Group, Cheil Pengtai and Bravo Asia. Lau himself was chairman and CEO of Bravo Asia for three years before joining Cheil. 

He serves on a number of advisory boards including the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, HK-China Business Council and the Shanghai Xu Hui District Mayor’s International Advisory Board.
