Changi Airport Group | Open Homes | Singapore

In view of the recent disruptions to air travel in Europe, Changi Airport Group had recently rolled out a nationwide social media initiative, with the help of Tribal DDB, to rally Singaporeans to open their homes to passengers in need of accommodation.

While there is presently no urgent need for additional accommodation as many flights have resumed and remaining passengers have been accommodated at hotels, the situation remains dynamic and disruptions may recur.

Therefore, Changi Airport Group is still compiling offers of accommodation from members of the public and will share this database with airlines and embassies, should accommodation be needed.

Changi Airport's Open Homes website and other social media platforms (Twitter and Facebook), have been utilised to appeal to Singaporeans to come forward to join this initiative.

On the campaign, Jeff Cheong, ECD of Tribal DDB Singapore, said: “We created an online platform to gather residents who are willing to participate in this initiative, and provide an opportunity to connect and help affected passengers stranded on the island. This is a time-sensitive exercise and social media is the fastest tool of choice.”
