Campaign Asia-Pacific awards Client Marketer of the Year 2010

Berard joined Pernod Ricard SA in 1998 and moved to Pernod SA in 2000 where he held various brand management and marketing positions, including marketing manager until 2005. One year later he became brand director of Martell before moving to Shanghai as brand director (Cognac & Champagne) of Pernod Ricard China in 2007.

Since then Berard has been at the very heart of the wine and spirit's company in China. Last year, his contribution to Pernod Ricard's business was underlined when he took on additional responsibility for all other Pernod Ricard brands in China. The country was highlighted in Pernod Ricard's last report to investors as the key growth engine and that is in no small part due to Berard's leadership.

It was his ability to drive Pernod Ricard brands in the highly competitive Chinese drinks market that elevated him above his peers in 2010.

Client Marketer of the Year is sponsored by The Economist

Earlier this week, Campaign Asia-Pacific also named Gillette India as the Brand of the Year 2010, sponsored by TIME.

The final shortlists and first of the people winners for the annual Agency of the Year awards, taking place in Singapore this month, were released at the end of November.

Currently in its 17th year, Agency of the Year rewards the companies and individuals that have not only contributed to raising industry standards but have also excelled in business performance.

450 of the industry's most influential people will gather at the St. Regis in Singapore on 14 December to see the recipients of all the regional and sub-regional awards presented on the night.
