Jerry Daykin has landed a role at Restaurant Brands International as head of international media for Burger King, Popeyes, Tim Hortons and Firehouse Subs.

The job is currently a one-year contract position for what is a new role at the Canadian-headquartered fast-food holding company.

Daykin will help the brand set up and build all aspects of a new media function from strategy and planning through to activation and adtech. His role covers all global markets except North America. He reports to Antonio Marques, the group’s chief brand officer.

Prior to joining, Daykin has held senior media roles both brand and agency side. Most recently, he was a consultant at PepsiCo for fractional media partnerships and responsible media since February as well as fractional chief marketing officer and strategy officer at Adfidence.

From 2022, he was vice-president, head of global media at Beam Suntory, the premium spirits brand.

Daykin has also held prominent media jobs at other large brands, including three years as GSK’s EMEA senior media director and head of global media partnerships and strategy at Diageo.

Before this, he worked at Carat as global digital partner and Mondelez International, where he led the EU’s social media marketing.
