Beiersdorf, owner of Nivea, Eucerin and La Prarie, among other brands, has reappointed OMD as its media agency of record in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand while adding Vietnam and Cambodia to its remit.

The appointment, following a review begun last year, covers online and offline media strategy, planning and buying. Beiersdorf evaluated agencies for future-facing solutions that will drive continuous growth in every market, according to OMD.

"Throughout the review process, OMD demonstrated a superior understanding of our business and the clearest vision of our future, presenting how we can maximise effectiveness across some of Southeast Asia’s most challenging markets," Cornelius Becker, Southeast Asia GM at Beiersdorf, said in a release.

Natica Tansukranunt, Southeast Asia marketing director added the decision to remain with OMD was unanimous across the seven markets.

Stephen Li, CEO of OMD Asia Pacific, said the agency welcomed the client's challenge to clearly demonstrate leadership in its craft and said the agency's motto of 'Better decisions, faster' spoke for itself in the markets OMD already held and resulted in the expansion to the new markets.

OMD says the regional wins contribute to OMD’s successful retention of Beiersdorf in 14 global markets, with the USA, Spain, Greece, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia also reappointing the network for their media duties.
