Chan's role will be as part of the pan-regional sales team, charged with setting up, building and supporting domestic and international advertising sales for BBC assets across TV and digital platforms, including BBC World News, BBC.com, Lonely Planet, and their related apps on the iPad and iPhone.

Based in Singapore, Chan reports to Cindy Tan, regional director, BBC Advertising for Worldwide Channels Asia, and also leads one of the two Singapore-based ad-sales teams at BBC Advertising, which is part of BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC.

Chan brings to BBC Worldwide over 13 years of media ad sales experience, and spent over eight years with ESPN Star Sports from account manager to her last post as senior director, digital media sales, and was focused on all of ESPN STAR Sports’ online, broadband, social and mobile innovations. In her early career, she also worked as senior manger, sales and business development at Yahoo and as a media planner at Mindshare.

Commenting on Delilah’s role, Tan said, “the extensive experience, skills and insights that she brings to the table will contribute to our next phase of growth which will include introducing commercial opportunities for new products in the BBC’s portfolio of TV and digital assets”.

Reported in July, BBC Worldwide has promoted Sunita Rajan to the position of senior vice president of BBC Advertising Asia. The company also recorded a US$255 million headline profit for the 2010-2011 financial year.
