AXN Beyond, a spin-off from leading English general entertainment channel AXN, will be made available in high definition (HD) on the Astro Beyond platform.

The programmes aired on AXN Beyond HD, will provide varied content through an extensive range of programming including drama, variety, reality, sitcom, dramedy, entertainment talk shows, features and movies.

Ricky Ow, senior vice president and general manager at SPE Networks for Asia, is confident of AXN Beyond HD’s appeal in Malaysia.

“AXN has been the leading channel in Malaysia, well-loved and supported by our loyal fans all these years.  We see a huge potential in this market – that is why we have decided to launch AXN Beyond HD, following the success of AXN HD in Malaysia.  It will be especially popular with the younger, tech-savvy core audience of 18 to 35 year-olds,” he said.

Henry Tan, chief operating officer of Astro, said, “Astro continues to bring our viewers the best of international and local content in both standard definition and high definition and we believe our Astro Beyond customers will truly enjoy this new channel."

Headlining AXN Beyond HD’s debut are two global blockbuster hits including 'Lost' and 'Supernatural'.
