Xu (pictured) told Campaign Asia-Pacific that he is taking a break from work. He claimed to have received a dozen offers, which he is narrowing down. He hopes to start on a new job in October.

Xu said the agency has not found someone to replace him. Lintas Beijing could not be reached for comment.

“I have been working for both international 4A and big local agencies in China," Xu said. "As the market for 4A agencies is currently not that good, I will definitely make a move to a new media and digital company."

Xu said he was responsible for bringing a number of new clients to Lintas Beijing, including Taobao, the China Tennis Open, Yili, Lexus and Citizen Watch.
