Korean culture has been on show as Seoul welcomed the first wave of 1,000 Allianz Life Indonesia incentive winners last week; the second group will visit April 24 to May 1.

This includes visits to the usual stars such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, DDP and N Seoul Tower, but also many local experiences. The March wave gala dinner was held at the AW Convention Center, while the April wave venue is still to be confirmed. The dinner includes 15-20 minutes of the Musical Chef Show and a K-pop dance performance.

“Seoul is a one-stop city for touring that has a unique culture, special traditional food, and great shopping,” said Ginawati Djuandi, chief agency officer at Allianz Life Indonesia. “Our itinerary consists of tours of Seoul's main traditional and modern attractions, and a gala dinner.”

The group has enjoyed wearing hanbok, painting fans at the Korean Folk Village and eating traditional food such as samgyetang (chicken ginseng soup). According to Djuandi, the food has been a real highlight among the group.

The annual incentive trip rewards the insurer’s top achievers, and it was important they be made to feel special. This meant a combined effort from Seoul Tourism Organization (STO), the agent and the venues and attractions the group is visiting as well as making use of STO’s new PLUS SEOUL initiative.

“Our company wanted to show appreciation and give service to our top achievers, celebrating their accomplishments and making them happy,” says Djuandi. “We chose a professional travel agent who is working with a premium local agent in Seoul, Bareumi Tour, which offers a good quality of service for our achievers.

“STO put our logo on a banner welcoming Allianz winners on all our buses and provided complimentary Seoul welcome kits (Korean traditional pouches with metal chopsticks) to participants. This was a very special Seoul welcoming for our achievers.”

The group is staying across three hotels, T-Mark Grand, Courtyard Marriott Namdaemun and Nine Tree Premier Hotel Myeongdong2 for the March wave; as well as President Hotel and Fraser Place Namdaemun in April.
