Patriotism and pugilism pack a potent punch for Pepsi in Pakistan

Amir Khan turns Lahore into training ground on behalf of an energy drink.

Amir Khan, the British-born boxing champ of Pakistani heritage, stars in this spot that transplants the famous training montage in Rocky from Philadelphia to Lahore. Created by BBDO and Proximity Pakistan for PepsiCo energy drink Sting, the video has been viewed over 12 million times across Facebook and YouTube.

Ad Nut likes the spot overall, but can't help noting the hoodie is a convenient cheat—allowing the filmmakers to substitute in a stunt double or a digital creation for daring acts that no one with earning potental like Khan's would ever be allowed to do.

(Sorry about the headline. Ad Nut cannot resist using a lot of alliteration at times.)
